Karina Micheals
Karina was born and raised in New Orleans, LA where she began dancing at the age of two. She studied classically with Delta Festival Ballet and The Boston Ballet School and received her BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She went on to assist Ann Reinking in numerous projects and performed in musicals, plays and operas. As a performer here in New York City, Karina was introduced to the wonders of Pilates here at Pilates Reforming New York, with Ann Toran. Pilates enhanced her dancing through renewed body awareness and strength. It changed her life! She is thrilled to share her experience and passion for movement with students and looks
forward to being a part of their discovery and joy!
Favorite roles include Josepha in Hartford Stage Company's production of Diosa, Frou Frou in The Metropolitan Opera's
The Merry Widow staring Placido Domingo, and Diana Morales in The European Tour of A Chorus Line.
Other credits include Peter Pan, Santa Fe Opera's La Belle Helene and Madame Mao, Goodspeed Opera's They All Laughed,
Mona in Chicago, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Cinderella at Paper Mill Playhouse and six productions of West Side Story.
She also worked closely with Ann Reinking for several years assisting on such projects as Bye Bye Birdie for CBS, Chicago (pre-Broadway), Applause for Paper Mill Playhouse, andRitmo y Ruido for Ballet Hispanico.
Trained classically with Delta Festival Ballet and Boston Ballet School. Graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
